This video just launched. And It makes me wonder if it was just pure laziness that kept her from performing in a video (ie - didn't want to work out to actually look good, didn't want to sober up to work out, didn't want to stop partying to sober up). Also, what does an anime-style video say about the evolution of the star and what she's become - or is it saying something about where most of her fan-base is.
This is stuff I'm into.

Seriously. I think I might have accidentally "bolded" Marion Cotillard's name or I picked her instead of Jule Christie because I just really wanted her to win. I honestly thought Julie Christie was going to win just because she's really made a comeback for herself over the last few years with her role in the Harry Potter series. I really hadn't seen her since Dr. Zhivago.
But I think I have a little talent crush on Marion Cotillard. Mostly because she's French and I just love Edith Piaf who she plays. I think I just really wanna be her.
She won a Golden Globe for this film as well as a BAFTA and a Cesar award - the French version of an Oscar.
Here's her acceptance speech:
I have to say, I'm very lethargic to the Oscars this year. It's the 80th year, which seems big, right? But I haven't seen many of these films. In recent years I've been very good about enough of the films to know who might get the award.
But, since I have a blog, I might as well, Right?

This is the environment in which I try to maintain and even up my creativity level. This is my place. It's taupe. Goes with lots of things, I guess.
A little cluttered. I'm not a packrat either. I just forget to throw things away.
My vanity... and me in the mirror. Sweet.
My desk... What have we here? A valentine from my mom, a James Bond article, my planner, Hill & Knowlton cards, a tin batmobile, a freshly printed CV. Great stuff, really.
Me in my room yesterday.
J.J. Abrams is the creator of some of the most profound addictions in my life: Lost, Alias, Felicity. These vices are both emotionally and physically dangerous in their ability to control both my actions (or inaction, rather, as I sit on the couch and eat popcorn, pretzels or other snack foods) and my emotions as I agonize whether Ben will be able to forgive Felicity for cheating on him with less-than-cheat-worthy-in-my-opinion Noel and who is the next member of the OCEANIC 6?!
Abram's most recent film venture, Cloverfield, is yet another item of my dependence. The entire thing seems to be filmed from a hand-held camera, reminiscent of The Blair Witch Project, making it difficult to follow and, for some, a relentless source of motion-sickness. I thought the film style was ingenious since it gave the film an air of urgency. The dialog also seemed to be unscripted during the most intense parts, documenting realistic reactions from the characters as New York City is attacked. These components made for a terrific revival of the very dead and done monster-attacks-New-York-City story-line with character development and actions from the very base of human fear and survival instinct.
I loved it. If you want to go see it, I'll go with you.
The best part is that, according the imdb.com, Abrams is, like an IV in my arm, making a sequel or follow-up to the movie, due out in 2009. So, in the coming months, I'm sure there will be tons of viral marketing (ie. "leaked" images, trailers, film footage) to keep my excruciating withdrawals at bay.
Here are some videos:
I already have a blog. It's msoto.wordpress.com. But it's my PR blog. It's stipulated, as a class project, that I can only blog about things PR. I wanted an outlet that would allow me to explore non-PR-y things that are on my mind. Like today, I wanted delve into this group called "Anonymous" who hates the Church of Scientology. But I can't with my Wordpress blog unless I can relate it to PR. So maybe I'll do think of a way to do that later. For now, I suppose I should say that my title refers, really, to what I've just been writing about: The stuff that matters to me at the end of the day - the stuff that I think about because I find it interesting but it's really not important to my teachers or class-work. Froth is the milk foam most often found in cafe drinks like lattes. It is also what some people consider the best part of the beverage but it isn't a necessary element of the drink.
Froth also has another hold on my personal imagery: foaming at the mouth - when people are so passionate about something (or have been bitten by a rabid animal) they froth at the mouth. Sometimes I'm passionate about things. Not often, but sometimes.
So thus, here is my froth and I hope its as relevant and interesting to you as it is to me.
